2024 Theme: NO CODE BOT
Program Details
Pakistan science Club is organizing summer science camp in Karachi, Islamabad and Abbottabad. Introducing PSC’s innovative Educational Robot, a groundbreaking learning tool for summer camp that empowers students to build and program a robot without needing any computer programming knowledge.
This camp enables students to create hard-coded instructions by drawing commands on paper, which the robot can interpret and execute. Equipped with sensors, the robot reads the drawn code and moves accordingly, providing immediate feedback and a hands-on learning experience. By focusing on drawing-based programming, the camp fosters creativity, logical thinking, and practical engineering skills. Perfect for young learners and beginners, this bot bridges the gap between theoretical concepts and real-world applications, making STEM education at summer camp engaging, accessible, and fun.
Team PSC is fully committed to delivering an enriching and educational experience for all participants. Our focus is to provide a safe and stimulating environment where attendees can engage in exciting scientific concepts and activities, leaving them with lasting knowledge and inspiration for their future pursuits.
Day 1: Introduction of Robotics
Participants will start camp by learning the basics of robotics. They’ll learn about the fusion of electronics and mechanics that brings robots to life. Participants will start by learning about robotic hardware and the principles of design, which will help them build a strong foundation for their creative projects.
Day 2: Electronics
On day two participants will immerse themselves in the realm of circuits, from designing them to using sensors and modules. Through hands-on activities, they’ll discover the basics of electronics and learn how circuits power robotics.
Day 3: Draw the Code
With a solid understanding of hardware and electronics, participants will transition to the realm of coding – without a computer! Through mind-mapping and paper coding exercises, they’ll learn to translate their ideas into tangible instructions. From loops to conditional statements, participants will learn the building blocks of coding and how they translate into robotic functions.
Day 4: Surprise Task
Get ready for a thrilling surprise task that will put participants’ newfound skills to the test! This mystery challenge will encourage creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork as participants strive to conquer the unknown.
Day 5: Astronomy Event+ Certificate distribution
Weather permitting, participants will gaze upon the celestial wonders above in an awe-inspiring astronomy event. Guided by experts, they’ll explore the night sky, identifying constellations, planets, and stars. Through the lens of highly magnified telescopes, participants will embark on a cosmic journey, deepening their understanding of the universe. On this day students will receive certificates.
Certification
A certificate of participation from the Pakistan Science Club will be awarded to participants (After camp completion)
