Theme: Water Heating Challenge

As we step into the month of January, we are thrilled to unveil our latest challenge aimed at tackling a critical aspect of everyday life – water heating. This month, we invite you to embark on a journey of innovation and creativity by designing a water heater or water geyser using any easily accessible materials at your disposal.

Challenge Objective:

Your task is to engineer a water heating solution that is not just efficient but also utilizes commonly available materials. We encourage you to explore inventive ways to optimize water heating processes while keeping sustainability in mind. The goal is to revolutionize how households access hot water, promoting both conservation and efficiency.

Key Guidelines:

  • Create a functional water heater/geyser using materials readily found in households or easily accessible in the local market.
  • Focus on optimizing energy usage, ensuring efficiency in heating water while conserving resources.
  • Prioritize safety and feasibility in your design, considering practical implementation.

How to Make a video for this challenge?

  • Make a video that’s 2 to 4 minutes long (but not more than 4 minutes).
  • Start by introducing yourself. Say your name and a bit about yourself.
  • Next, talk about your project. Explain what it is and why you made it.
  • Show us your project in action. Let us see how it works. When creating a video, make sure to include a clip of your project working. And use thermometer to show water temperature.
  • Then, explain how you put it all together. Tell us the steps you took.
  • Lastly, explain the scientific phenomena that you applied in creating your project. Share what you’ve learned from taking on this challenge.
  • You can use any video editing application like Cap Cut, etc., for the video-making process.

How to write a document?

For the document, you can download the provided document template and fill in the requested information.

Note: The submission form will be shared on the WhatsApp groups of STEM Pakistan registered schools and the PSC open challenge.
