Working Model of Heart
The heart is about the size of a human clenched fist. An adult female’s heart weighs is about 8 ounces and an adult male’s heart weighs about 10 ounces. The heart is located in the center of the human chest between the lungs. People often think the heart is on the left side of the chest. The bottom of the heart is tilted slightly more towards the left side of the body, so we often feel our heart more on the left. the heart is not directly below your skin. The heart is protected by the breastbone (sternum) and the bones of the rib cage.
