📖 The 3D Printing Journey
From Foundation to Innovation — a complete transformation journey
Week 1 • Foundation Stage
🏗️ 3D Thinking & Basics
🎯 Goal: Understand how 3D world & printing works
- Introduction to 3D printing (real examples, medical, robotics, space)
- Types of printers & real printed objects showcase
- Parts of 3D printer (hotend, bed, extruder, layer by layer)
- Materials (PLA basics) + Live demo print
- First design in TinkerCAD (shapes, move, scale, rotate)
- Create first simple object (name tag / keychain)
✅ Outcome: Understands idea → object process + First 3D model created
Week 2 • Creation Stage
🎨 Design & Modeling
🎯 Goal: Design useful objects
- Combine shapes, alignment, grouping & precision (mm thinking)
- Design for use (thickness, strength basics)
- Project: Phone stand design
- Student designs own object with instructor guidance
- Design improvements & iterations
✅ Outcome: Designs functional objects + Engineering thinking
Week 3 • Application Stage
⚙️ Slicing & Printing
🎯 Goal: Learn real printing process
- What is STL + Cura / slicer introduction
- Settings: Layer height, Infill, Supports
- Orientation importance + Speed vs quality
- Common mistakes (warping, stringing)
- Students prepare + slice their own file
- Start print + observe & analyze
✅ Outcome: Understands design → print pipeline + File preparation
Week 4 • Innovation Stage
🔧 Projects & Showcase
🎯 Goal: Become a creator
- Real project: Gear system / Desk organizer / Mechanical part
- Identify issues, modify design, reprint (iteration learning)
- Final project preparation
- Present project: Idea, Design, Challenges
- Final showcase & certificate distribution
✅ Outcome: Functional project + Confidence + Presentation skills
