How to make Tesla Coil Slayer Exciter

In this post you will learn how to make power full slayer exciter which is also called solid state Tesla coil. The circuit for the Slayer exciter is extremely simple .

Components

The components required to make a simple Tesla coil are as following:

  1. Power transistor TTC5200 or MJE3055
  2. Resistor 10 kilo ohms
  3. Ceramic Capacitor (any)
  4. Large heat sink
  5. Copper Wire 28 to 30 gauge
  6. PVC Pipe 1 inch in diameter and 1 ft in length
  7. PVC Pipe  1.1/4 inch in diameter and 2 inch in length.
  8. Connecting wires
  9. Power supply 24 to 36 volt
  10. connecting wires

Steps of Construction

  1. Take the PVC pipe of Inch diameter and 1 ft. length and wound the copper wire around it.
  2. Make about 500 turns in such a manner that the wire must not overlap each other and there must not be any gap in between.
  3. It is termed as "Primary coil".
  4. Now take PVC Pipe  1.1/4 inch in diameter and 2 inch in length and turn the wire about 5,6 times, this will be "Secondary Coil".
  5. Make the circuit according to the given circuit diagram.

  • Sir i used copper winding enameled wire for coil and its not working , is that necessary to remove enamel from outer surface of coil for this experiment ? or i use wire without enameled in coil . second i used voltage source adapter of 36V and 3Amp. will it be enough for this project ?
