The activity discusses the fundamentals of mechanical energy conversion into electrical energy by using magnetic induction and emf. The project focuses the working principles and instruments used in it.  The interchange of different energies and electricity generation by the process of induction can be completely explained by this project.

DC motor

Introduction Hands-on Workshop DC Motor

The project mainly describes the concept of electromagnetism, the working principle of the phenomenon and its application in various appliances. DC motor is commonly used in toys for the conversion of electrical energy into mechanical energy to drive them.  Students will make their own simple DC motor that will help them to decipher the laws of electromagnetism, its application, designing and working of it.

  •  Preliminary concepts about electromagnetism, its importance and application.
  • Basic concept and laws about conversion electrical energy and then into mechanical energy.
  • The project will also help to understand the laws involved in conversion of energies from one form to another form.

Introduction Hand Powered Generator

Generation of electricity on industrial scale always has been one of the important questions for the students. The workshop addresses various physical laws regarding magnetism, and induction, working principles, material, tools and equipments required for the electricity generation.  The project will also helps the students to learn about pulley and gear system, its significance and uses.

Electromagnet

Electromagnet Workshop Overview

The activity helps in understanding about magnetism and electromagnetism and how they are related with each other. It is an interesting hands-on project that is capable of explaining basic phenomenon of magnetism, types of magnets and how they are made. Children make their own electromagnet by using iron nail, copper wire, and battery cell and also learn about the practical implementations of various types of magnets.
