Kaleidoscope

Introduction

This project focuses on the concept development and basic learning about properties of light and mirrors. It is a worth learning activity for students that helps them to decipher the reflection and refraction in an interesting way. Students will be guided to make their kaleidoscope by using plane mirrors, sticking tape and simple household stuff.

  • The activity will be helpful to understand properties of light and optical instruments.
  • Deciphering the laws of reflection and its significance in routine life.
  • Significance of angles in reflection.

Holograph

This project emphasizes to describe about the various properties of light, optical illusion, refraction and image formation. It is an interesting activity for the demonstration of various phenomenon of light such as interference, diffraction, parallax and 3D image formation in air. Students will learn about all these properties by constructing a simple holograph from the household items.

Simple Camera

Simple Camera workshop overview

The activity focuses on the basic concepts of optics and optical instruments. It explains the construction and working principle of simple camera which is beneficial to understand the function of eye. The project is also helpful to demonstrate the types of lens, its working principles and image formation by it.

Periscope

 

The activity focuses on the fundamentals of optics and light, its properties and phenomenon to develop an understanding of reflection its laws and its types. Periscope making also defines the importance of angles in the reflection of light. 

Students will be guided to make a periscope with simple material like cardboard, mirrors and hot glue.
