About 4% of total area is covered by forest, in which only 5% area is protected. 90% of country\u2019s wood production is used as fuel. About 7000 ha of land is reforested in Pakistan every year. To control reforestation adoption of biogas is a best technology in Pakistan. Biogas technology has proved to be very successful in Pakistan. Biogas can provide a clean, easily controlled source of renewable energy from organic waste materials for a small labour input, replacing firewood or fossil fuels (which are becoming more expensive as supply falls behind demand).
