Intel ISEF affiliated Shaukat Khanum Sindh Provincial Science and Engineering Fair 2017 was held at 7th November at Pak Turk International School, Gulistan-e-Jauher, Karachi. The Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (Intel ISEF), a program of Society for Science & the Public (the Society), is the world’s largest international pre-college science competition which is now been sponsored by Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Center in Pakistan.

More than 50 teams and individuals from all over Sindh participated in the competition in the categories of Physics, Chemistry, Medicine, Computer Science and Renewable Energy and Environment Sciences.

Two projects, one in group and an individual also participated from and qualified for the National Science Fair to be held in December 2017 at Lahore. Both the projects were in the category of Renewable Energy and Environment Sciences entitled as Air and Solar Powered System (Design by Abdul Basit) and Hyperbola Wind Turbine (Design by Hamza Ibrahim and Mustufa Ahmed) and won Best of Category Award.

Other physical provincial science fairs held at the Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa while virtual fairs to be held at Quetta and Islamabad to short list the participants for the Intel ISEF affiliated Shaukat Khanum National Science and Engineering Fair in December 2017. The Grand winners of National Science Fair will represent Pakistan at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (Intel ISEF) where approximately 1,800 high school students from more than 75 countries, regions, and territories come to participate and compete in more than 10 categories.
