Maths and science are integral to the country’s future, and our current education system is not adequately delivering the skills our children need”, said Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi during a meeting with a team from the Pakistan Alliance for Maths and Science (PAMS), which includes practitioners, scientists, and advocates from all over Pakistan on Wednesday. The meeting was requested by PAMS to urge the government to help improve the state of learning in maths and science, in keeping with its responsibility of ensuring that every child receives quality education as per the Article 25-A of the constitution.

Members of the alliance that took part in the meeting included Dr. Nelofer Halai of the Institute of Education of the Agha Khan University, Dr. Manzoor Soomro President ECO Science Foundation, Dr. Faisal Khan from CECOS University, Abdul Rauf President Pakistan Science Club, Lalah Rukh CEO Science Fuse, Nida Athar CEO Pakistan Innovation Foundation, Saima Zaidi of Habib University, Pratab Shivani CEO Thar Education Alliance, Junaid Jahar CEO Sindh Education Alliance, and Nimra Tariq, Salman Naveed Khan and Mosharraf Zaidi from Alif Ailaan.
